The story behind this image

Church Bay, or Porth Swtan, is one of my wife Liz's and my favourite places to visit on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey.

Our normal destination is the lovely beach, backed by honey coloured cliffs and an absolute visual delight.

But on this occasion in early summer 2018 I never made it as far as the beach, being distracted by the gorgeous display of wildflowers growing on the verge by the side of the road near the Wavecrest Café (another good reason for visiting Church Bay).

A happy half hour followed, with Liz sitting in the sun sipping a coffee while I clicked away at the various arrangements of shape, colours and textures that nature had so obligingly provided.

We did, eventually, make it down to the beach, but it was those wonderful wildflowers that stole the show for me.
