The story behind this image

Duckpool is a secluded cove on the Atlantic coast of North Cornwall, with a huge sandy beach at low tide which is pretty much deserted most of the year.

Bounded by towering cliffs and sitting at the end of the wooded Coombe Valley, Duckpool is a sensory delight, with the sights, smells and sounds of the ocean and shoreline engendering an immense sense of well being.

At least, that's how my wife Liz and I felt about Duckpool as we spent a couple of glorious days here as part of our two week explore of the beauties of Devon and Cornwall.

This image was taken at hightide on a glorious breezy, sunny day as medium sized Atlantic rollers crashed onto the shoreline stones and boulders, throwing up a fine spray which quickly coated my camera's optics!

I kind of wish I was back there, standing looking out to sea with the stiff breeze making my eyes water and the pounding of the surf in my ears.

Never mind though, as I have these photos to remind me, as well as my Duckpool Video #1 to look at as the rain pours down outside.
