Just to the south of St Austell on the English Channel coast of Cornwall lies the sleepy little seaside village of Pentewan.
During our two week stay spent exploring the beautiful scenery of Devon and Cornwall my wife Liz and I took the long drive south from our holiday cottage near Bude to spend a day touring around the south coast of Cornwall.
We stopped off at Pentewan for a look round and a walk on the extensive beach, but unfortunately the weather got the better of us and we had to beat a hasty retreat back from the shore to our car as a heavy rain shower pelted down.
The grey overcast skies did nothing for my efforts to photogragh the dramatic coastal views either, with sea, sky and land merging into various dull shades of grey and brown.
But never mind, as there were some lovely details to look at in and aound the village that benefitted from the flat lighting.
Such as this arrangement of colours in the blue door, white wall and vibrant flowers that caught my eye as we walked down to the beach. (Before it started to rain!)
