With sixteen hours of daylight during the summer months up here at 53&geg;N latitude my wife Liz and I take full advantage of the long days to explore further afield around Wales than we can manage during the cold, dark, winter.
With so many beautiful and dramatic locations to choose from in this part of the world we really are spoilt for choice, but one location we make a point of visiting at least once a summer are the wonderful Cregennan Lakes.
Nestled high in the Snowdonia mountains above the Mawddach estuary, the Cregennan Lakes are an outdoor enthusiasts delight, with fresh, clean air to breathe and unspoilt natural scenery to hike through, with hardly anybody else in view.
Of course, I can't just look at the views without unlimbering my camera to try to justice in a photograph to the mountains and lakes laid out so tantalisingly in front of me.
In this case, 'doing justice' meant shooting hundreds of still images in order to create my Cregennan Lakes Timelapse #6 video, of which this image is one of the frames, featuring cumulus clouds reflecting in the calm surface of the lake with Cader Idris in the background.
