The magnificent volcanic landscapes of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands are a must see for anyone visiting this lovely spot.
So our hire car took quite a pounding during the week in February 2019 that my wife Liz and I spent exploring the mountain roads.
From our base at Taurito on the heavily developed south coast we drove north and soon found ourselves in another world of mountains and canyons, as sunlight and shadow played over the landscapes.
One of the viewpoints that we stopped to photograph was near Tasarte, with a panoramic view past mountains and down a valley, all the way to the coast in the far distance.
