Although most of the two weeks my wife Liz and I spent in northern Italy in the autumn of 2018 was taken up driving around the beautiful lakes that adorn this region, we did also take the odd drive up into the mountains, following the tiny roads shown on our tourist map.
One such trip took us from the shores of the beautiful Lake Idro up a winding road through forests up to the medieval town of Bagolino.
Bagolino proved to be a visually fascinating place, with ancient little alleyways and side streets to explore.
And of course, a scooter parked on an old cobbled street just epitomises the Italian vibe.
