Nestled in the mountains and rolling hills of England's Lake District, the National Trust lake of Tarn Hows is a sensory treat, and was high on the list of 'must see' places that my wife Liz and I compiled for our long weekend break here towards the end of July 2020.
There's a path that runs all the way round the lake, taking in woodland, secluded bays, and high moorland, and usually takes around an hour to circumnavigate by foot.
However, it took us a lot longer than that, not least because I was constantly stopping to take photos of the beautiful scenery that unfolded around every bend in the path.
Such as this view out across the lake from the point furthest from the car park, looking out over a sheltered inlet giving smooth water and lovely reflections.
