A beautiful sunny summer's day in north Wales and my wife Liz and I were pondering where to go to enjoy the views and sunshine.
With a whole day free at our disposal we decided to venture a bit further afield than our usual haunts around Snowdonia and the North Wales coast, and so we headed south to have a look at Lake Vyrnwy in Powys, Mid Wales.
We'd been there before, on a cloudy, cold and wet day, so we were looking forward to seeing the lake under better conditions.
Well we weren't disappointed, and enjoyed a great day out walking and photographing the stunning scenery.
This picture was taken from the road right next to the huge dam at the south end of the lake and gives a view right up the length of the reservoir, and with passing clouds sending shadows across the landscape I also took the opportunity to shoot several hundred images here to make my Lake Vyrnwy Timelapse #1 video.
