It was a real pleasure that, during the week long winter break that my wife Liz and I enjoyed on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands in February 2018, we could walk out of our resort at Puerto del Carmen and be right on the beachfront promenade.
One thing I'll say about Lanzarote is that even the tourist developments are in good taste, with no high rise hotels and everywhere kept very clean and litter free.
This 180° panoramic view of the Puerto del Carmen promenade was taken during a long walk Liz and I took, right to the airport and back.
Every so often along the promenade there was a handy lookout tower, built out of lumps of lava, which we were able to climb up to get these views.
Normally I'll avoid photographing tourist areas unless there's something amazing going on, but I made an exception for Puerto del Carmen.
