Of all the cultivated flowers that my wife Liz and I buy regularly to brighten up our home, the Stargazer Lily is one of my favourites.
Whether its in its closed state, before flowering, or in full bloom as shown in this image, the Stargazer Lily is one very attractive and dramatic flower.
So I took full advantage of this particularly shapely specimen to set up an indoor photoshoot, using a plain light grey cloth as a backdrop against which the vibrant colours and exquisite detail of the petals, stamen and anthers could be seen clearly.
Truly one of God's masterpieces!
