The story behind this image

The North Wales coast boasts some lovely, quaint seaside towns, of which Llanfairfechan is a prime example.

This sleepy gem has some low-key attractions but has basically remained stuck in time for the past few decades.

Llanfairfechan is one of my Liz's and my favourite spots for a quiet afternoon's stroll along the beach and nature reserve, but I also appreciate this place from a photographic point of view.

Taking a hike along the coastal paths from Llanfairfechan in the direction of Bangor takes you through some lovely countryside, a favourite haunt of bird watchers who take a keen interest in the many breeds of waders that frequent the area.

But what caught my eye on this occasion wasn't the birds, but this lovely tree covered in fresh spring leaves gleaming in the afternoon May sun.

A conveniently placed walker framed underneath the spreading branches completed the scene , and I just had to wait a few sceonds for him to arrive in the right spot before pressing the shutter.
