The story behind this image

One unseasonably warm and sunny day in late September 2020 my wife Liz and I decided on an excursion southwards from our home in North Wales down to Barmouth on the coast of southern Snowdonia.

Having explored Barmouth and walked over the amazing railway bridge across the Mawddach estuary (a life goal for me), our attention was drawn to a roadsign on the outskirts of Barmouth advertising a panoramic view.

So off we set up into the hills above the Mawddach estuary to see what we could find.

What we did find, eventually, was this stunning vista across the estuary to Cader Idris and the mountains of Snowdonia beyond, lit by dappled sunlight and with rolling farmland in front of us.

Well worth stopping to shoot a few photos, I even had a drystone wall to anchor the bottom of this composition with.
