The story behind this image

With its proud maritime heritage, the small fishing village of Moelfre on the eastern side of the Isle of Anglesey, just off the North Wales coast, is a delightful place to visit for a walk around the small harbour and cliffs.

The small cove is littered with inshore fishing paraphenalia, making for some interesting photo opportunities.

So while my wife Liz sat knitting in the sun on the harbour wall I clambered down amongst the beached boats, bouys and lobster pots, camera in hand, to try and capture some of the atmosphere of this lovely, but enigmatic place.

My eye was immediately drawn to this most colourful arrangement of plastic marker bouys and catch boxes, together with a rusted old anchor and chain, all sitting in and around a rotten old rowing boat incongruously named 'The Pride of Moelfre', hauled up high on the shingle beach.
