Spending a day exploring the sights, sounds and smells of Funchal, the capital city and main port of Madeira, was a treat for all the senses.
One of the highlights of our brief time on this island, stuck out on its own in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, was a visit to the main market.
There was pretty much everything for sale there, but this display of locally produced leather handbags certainly grabbed my photographic attention.
My wife Liz was rather interested as well!
