The North Wales seaside town of Rhyl has recently undergone some serious refurbishment around the harbour at the mouth of the river Clwyd, including the impressive new Pont y Ddraig (Bridge of the Dragon) footbridge.
The bridge's impressive stainless steel masts and rigging make for a graphic and eye catching image, a fact I took full advantage of during an evening's shoot around the harbour in July at low tide.
The light on that particular evening was to die for, with beams of direct low angled sunlight piercing the clouds and lighting up the bridge's superstructure which was set against the dark, threatening clouds overhead.
And it was the quality of the light, combined with the shapes and angles of the bridge, that enthused me to capture this image.
Rhyl is definitely upping its game!
