The story behind this image

Voted Britain's Favourite Mountain, the unmistakeable Cornish pasty shaped slopes and summit of Tryfan dominate the skyline of the Ogwen Valley in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.

My wife Liz and I were enjoying a New Year's day hike up to the Ffynnon Llugwy reservoir in stunning winter sunlight, with fantastic views back down the Ogwen Valley including, of course, Tryfan, the premiere peak in the Glyderau range.

So it was no wonder that our climb up to the reservoir took a lot longer than expected, with me having to stop every few paces to take yet another photo of the gorgeous views on offer.

This image features Tryfan, in silhouette against a glowing sky and wreathed in a blanket of mist.

Just visible on the peak are the twin upstanding rocks called 'Adam and Eve', which those climbers not of a nervous disposition take great delight in jumping between!
