The story behind this image

A beautiful early spring day on the North Wales coast found my wife Liz and I enjoying one of our bracing strolls along the vast beach at Talacre.

Of course, you can't visit Talacre without photographing the iconic Point of Ayr lighthouse, sticking incongruously out of the sand at a somewhat wonky angle!

With light cumulus clouds blowing by overhead, and an ebbing tide having left behind sand ripples and tidal pools I'm afraid we didn't get much further along the beach, as I spent the best part of half an hour capturing the scene from different angles.

Still, we can come here whenever we fancy, Talacre being just a forty minute drive from where we live, so maybe next time I won't get so distracted!
