Driving north along the TF-82 from Costa Adeje on the south coast of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, you will soon enough come to the charming little town of Santiago del Teide.
Which is where my wife Liz and I stopped for a leg stretch during an exploratory drive up to the north coast while enjoying a January week in the relative warmth.
Strolling around the town square my attention was drawn to this verdant orange tree, busting with fruit even in what was mid-winter here in the Canaries.
Of course, I couldn't pass this colourful spectacle by without taking a photo or two, just to remind myself what it feels like to be warm!
