The story behind this video

A week's holiday in the west of Ireland found my wife Liz and I re-visiting some of our favourite places along the Wild Atlantic Way coastal drive.

One area we were determined to re-aquaint ourselves with was the wonderful Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, as we we'd holidayed there several years ago and had some very fond memories of this remarkable stretch of coast.

So we set of early from our base in County Clare and spent a whole day driving and photogaphing around Dingle.

We had typical Irish west coast 'interesting' weather, with sun, rain, clouds and wind all occuring at half hour intervals. (At least it didn't snow!)

So although our opportunites for hiking were somewhat curtailed I was in my photographic element with all that weather going on, combined with beautiful and dramatic scenery.

Mind you, filming wasn't without its risks, as to take the stills for this time lapse video of clouds over the wave swept beach at Clogher Strand I had to strap my tripod and camera to a handy fence post to stop the entire setup from being blown off a cliff in the near gale conditions!

I also managed to shoot some real time video here, which you can watch by clicking on my Clogher Strand #1 link. Enjoy!
