During the week long holiday on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands that my wife Liz and I enjoyed in late February 2019 we stayed in the south coast resort town of Taurito.
Our hotel was quite high up on the cliff face, with a balcony that looked out over the far side of the bay.
Although the scenery on view didn't comprise the natural, unspoilt beauty of the island's interior, I still made the effort to shoot a few time lapse video sequences, picking out interesting changes in lighting over the manmade landscapes in view.
My favourite time of day for filming the built landscape is sunset and dusk, with the natural light of day fading away to the deep blue of night as the warm orange artifical lights of the resort hotels take over until the sky goes completely black.
And all from the comfort of our own balcony!
