The day was drawing to a close as my wife Liz and I headed back to the car after a stroll part way up Moel Famau, our local hill and the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Over to the west the sky was starting to take on the orange glow of sunset, so instead of heading home we headed down the road aways to where we had a clear view of the sun setting over the Clwydians.
Ideal subject for a time lapse video, so I wasted no time in setting up my camera, fitted with a long lens to catch the sunset close up.
Well we weren't disappointed, with the sun slowly sinking behind the hills, but the show didn't end there, as the clouds in the sky above caught the light and glowed with the rich, warm colours of twilight for long after the sun had disappeared.
So I kept on shooting, with my lens zoomed back to take in more of the sky, until the colour had all but fled the scene.
Then it was back home for a cup of tea and bed, elated at having witnessed the wonder and beauty of God's creation one more time.
